THouston Maharashtra Mandal Vastu Division is one of the three divisions of HMM with the responsibility of building a permanent building and complex for the MANDAL. Vastu Division responsibilities also include activities such as: project planning, raising funds, acquiring land and design, construction and maintenance of the building.

To serve the Maharashtrian community in Greater Houston area by providing a physical space to preserve their cultural heritage, to enhance the togetherness and to support activities that will benefit the greater Houston community.

To provide a dedicated and consecrated place of worship for Hindu Maharashtrian-Indian tradition, while promoting interfaith understanding and cooperation.

To provide a venue to members to hold private social, cultural and religious functions in the Hindu traditional way within the rules and regulations of Houston Maharashtra Mandal.

In 2013 we set out with the goal of building our own Vastu –  A temple and  Community Center. During the concept stage, we confirmed that we had support from general body, donors and HMM trustees.  HMM By Laws were amended and HMM Vastu Division was formed to specifically work on realizing the objective of having our own Vastu.

HMM community supported and volunteers of all ages worked hard. We had a great endorsement from our celebrity guests Sachin and Supriya Pilgaonkar which culminated in a successful fund raising program दुर्गा झाली गौरी.

At the beginning of 2016, we had enough funds to purchase the land and pay for the initial maintenance.  HMM Vastu Division identified a property in Rosenberg, Texas.  HMM Board of Directors and General Body supported the acquisition of this property in Apr 2016.  We should all be proud that HMM has now purchased this 11.5 Acre property at 3515 Highway 90 Alt, Rosenberg, Texas.

In 2017, we organized a uniquely entertaining fundraiser सूर ओळखीचे which was graced by a famous music and television personality Avadhoot Gupte.

In 2019, HMM came together to organize जाणता राजा the biggest and most renowned stage show that Marathi theater has ever produced on the life of छत्रपती शिवाजी महाराज.

In 2019 संकल्प मारुती मंदिर was inaugurated with celebration of हनुमान जयंती

In 2017, 2018 and 2024 HMM Holi-Rangapanchami was celebrated on Vastu with increasingly large number of attendees

In 2024, Inauguration of a brand new cricket ground on Vastu

The short-term goal is to get Vastu ready for the Vittal Rukmini Mandir as well as to make Vastu usable for multiple activities including outdoor sports activities, private events, and any future HMM events.  To complete these improvements, we have set a short-term goal to raise $200,000.
